Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga is one of my most popular sessions!  Come find out and feel why.

*

This is a mini-immersion, which means you will have ample time to experience the immediate benefits of practice, while also gaining an understanding of why we do what we do, and how to replicate similar experiences at home.

This mini immersion is truly special and practical, as you will complete easy yet precise BREATH TRAINING METHODS in order to help you optimize your health through deeper breathing AND emotional regulation.

This sequence helps replenish every level of your being, the material body as well as the nervous system, the emotional body as well as the spirit, by enhancing a sense of energy flow and balance. Yet most of it is done lying down and propped up! Though it is simple to do, its results are vast.

This sequence will help you take deeper breaths physically, while also allowing you to use the breath as your guide for a deeper inner experience of resting & empowering the mind. Come try it out:  BETTER BREATHING: Restorative Yoga, Relaxation, Meditation.

Do you “go, Go, GO” and need some RECOVERY time so you feel replenished?

Want to feel more rested and energized?

Then this is for YOU:

This longer mini-immersion format means that you will have all the time you need to really relax into restorative postures, work belly breathing to unwind fully, and also gently twist the abdomen and release the back.  Gentle shoulder openers hip releases will also lessen tension.

Then you’ll settle in, fully supported and restful, to gently let the mind be guided in a systematic relaxation.

Breathing into the openness the gentle restorative poses have created, you’ll guide the mind to a great sense of tranquility and well-being.

Restorative Yoga is a PERFECT summer practice because you’ll leave the studio feeling re-energized AND calm, having let go of the heat of agitation and fortified a sense of openness and possibility. Simply put, you will feel more YOU, the best of you.

As we head into Thanksgiving week, and further busy ahead–plus changes in weather and also schedules and diets, this often means we feel like we are carrying too much.  Using simple techniques to better assimilate, digest, and circulate energy is what this special yoga evening is all about.  This brings that much-needed rest-and-digest response, letting the joints move more freely and releasing tension in the muscles so we can feel more spaciousness & freedom on all levels and deep within.

There are so many things to do–many rewarding and fun and meaningful!–and yet overly full schedules may often leaves you feeling drained.

Would you like to enjoy the rest of your summer, feeling your best, open, and excited?

Restorative Yoga not only helps you recover, but this particular sequence can also deeply replenish those energy reserves.

In addition, when tightness in the body or fatigue accumulate, this sometimes contributes to anxiety or mental strain and drain.  By using postures as well as attentive breathwork, the nervous system is called, so the mind itself begins to relax and gather its innate clarity, resilience, and inspiration.

Restorative Yoga is a very nurturing class designed to release tension slowly in the body, deepen and relax the breath, facilitate deep relaxation, and contribute to rejuvenation.  This approach is profound yet gentle; most postures are done on the floor and are held for a long time—up to ten minutes.

Many cotton bolsters and blankets as well as other props (pillows, foam blocks, yoga straps, and weights) are used to help open the body over time.  It is an incredibly helpful practice during times of an overwhelming workload or to-do list, or to help recover from fatigue, injury, or illness.

*

If you need to relieve stress, slow down, and make space for your body and mind to heal, and cultivate practices that will help you show up as your best self every day, Restorative Yoga will help.

*

RESTORATIVE YOGA is a restful, gentle technique.  Like a regular hatha or vinyasa (dynamic) yoga practice, RESTORATIVE YOGA helps refine, comfort, and restore your body and mind, and nuanced adjustments of props allow you to learn what practices work best for your body at any given time.  Restorative Yoga has also helped my students enhance the quality of sleep, and thus they return to their days more inspired and renewed.  It is also an important practice for those who workout a lot, do a lot of energizing yoga sequences, weight train, or simply go-go-go too much.

Would you like to try a RESTORATIVE YOGA practice for yourself?  Your investment is $45 with pre-registration, and includes use of all props. Because these mini-immersions into restorative yoga are high demand AND includes tons of props, pre-registration is required and walk-ins are not accepted.

You will also be guided through a systematic relaxation session at the end of class.  ALL of my guided relaxation have firm roots in traditional yoga philosophy to enhance the intensity of long-lasting benefits on every level  or the five layers of your entire “subtle body” (or what in classical Sanskrit are called “Koshas”) that make up your healthy, integrated, and empowered being:  Physical; vital energy; mental, psychological, and emotional; deeper body of wisdom, and innermost spiritual dimension.

*

Since we use LOTS of props and need space, spots in this mini-immersion are very limited. This mini-immersion on BETTER BREATHING  will not be offered the rest of the year. The last two times it was offered pre-pandemic, we sold out and even had to turn people away at the door.

So please save your place if you are interested in Restorative Yoga and want to take a bigger, better breath & feel your mind clear and connected.  Book now to claim your place on the mat:

Not sure if RESTORATIVE YOGA is for YOU?  Read what one previous student had to say:

Restorative yoga does just what the name implies; it restores a sense of calm and restfulness. Our lives are so busy. This is a chance to simply take care of your body, to slow down your mind, and just focus on breathing. It is so relaxing! I may have fallen asleep a couple of times! Relaxing poses are held just a little longer to allow enough time for stress to melt away. recommend this class to everyone.

HI passport size, 2 x 2 inAny questions about this delicious RESTORATIVE YOGA class?  I am Virginia Hill, the passionate force behind AHA Yoga, and am always happy to answer your questions.  I adore geeking out on yoga, so would love to speak with you.  And, as a person who has suffered from severe asthma, allergies, and many bouts of pneumonia, as well as anxiety and mental strain that come from overwork & worry, I am particularly honored to bring this session to you because I know it can & does help.  Moreover, it is often much simpler than we imagine.  Breathing and learning to systematically release–along with meditation!–are the most important things I teach and practice each and every day.  These techniques allow us to rest, and that is where true inner peace, clarity, and well-being arise.
